When I woke up late I was angry, but what I found out next really made me see red. All the power in my house went out! I was not able to prepare for this unfortunate event ahead of time, so I had to think of what to do as the day went on. I was able to cope with the power being out because most of my day is spent away from home, the electronics I use are wireless, and I was able to sustitue most of the things I use with something else.
I was really happy that the power went out on a day that I had to go to school. I knew that I had to deal with it at some point when I went home, but I had plans to go hangout with my friends after school. These reasons helped me a lot because i would get very bored without power at my house. I also had to go to a job interview, so that brought me two more hours away from my house. It really upset me when I finally had to go home that night.
Most of the electronics that I use at my house run on batteries, so I could still do most of the stuff I do when I am at my house. I still was not able to watch TV, play XBox, or cook food. I was able to talk to all of my friends still because I have a cell phone, I could still use my laptop to get online, and i could listen to my ipod on my battery operated stereo system. Still, I was bored without all of the usual things that I use everyday.
It is a good thing people can still substitute most electronic things with another thing. I used candles instead of lights. Using candles not only provided me with light, but it also left an amazing scent. It was still January, so we put verything that was in the refrigerator outside and it was still pretty cold. Instead of using the stove to cook my food, I used the grill. When i need to take a shower, I went to the waterfall behind my house. Even though you can not replace everything electronic with something non-electronic, I was still able to replace most things.
My day was not as bad as I thought it would be when the power went out, even though I was not prepared I knew what to do. I still continued my day as I usually would as far as school goes.
